COURSE DESCRIPTION
CLINICAL APPLICATION provides practical learning opportunities for students to put their theory to practice. Nurses will also have an opportunity that allows each Nurse to complete a 2 hour mentorship. Mentorship is one-on-one with an experienced Foot Care Nurse in a variety of settings. Each setting may include : Independent Living, Seniors Centres, LTC Centres, Community, or at the main clinic. The Clinical program will be held at TiredSole™ for hands-on experience with an on-site Foot Care Nurse and Nurse Educator. The Student will be processing their own tools and have one full day of assessing Volunteers and assist with their Foot Care ailments thus putting your theory to practice. All of your questions will be answered by the end of your 4 day clinical based portion of this course. Guest Speakers may include but not limited too : Chiropodist, Accountant, CPC, Pedorthist, Massage Therapist, Orthotist.
Don’t forget you can apply for the education initiative through RPNAO / RNAO for up to a $1,500.00 reimbursement when you have completed this course.
REGISTRATION
Successful completion of a recognized theory FCN course, with a minimum grade of 75% within the last 12 months.
Each applicant must carry proof of at least $2 Million insurance (malpractice/ liability). RPNAO is one provider option.
Each applicant must hold a current non-restricted Nursing Registration (temporary or full) from the territory or province in which they reside. If not from Ontario, a temporary licence for hands on clinical days is required.
The student is expected to bring in the necessary documentation on Day 1 of Clinical. There is no Textbook used for this course. Our theory has all the necessary information loaded into the course along with a dictionary of terms Please Note: PPE Supplies and Rotary tool are not included in the total cost of the course.
Once full payment is received the student will be scheduled for a 3 hours shadowing experience in a location that can best fit into your schedule. No Home Visits will have shadowing C/O confidentiality ( no extra charge )

*Long Term Care Facility
*Residential Care Facility
*Main clinic at TiredSole™
*Senior Centre
Supplies( Kits) may be purchased though TiredSole at a discounted price. This kit is the perfect starter kit and includes the basic needs of a beginner Foot Care Nurse and will take you through the course with enough supplies left for you and your new Foot Care Career.
